Really good sci-fi brother. If you like it then read Snow Crash

This is my biggest gripe with it

sounds trippy

It's pretty good. Best in the series beyond Burning Chrome. Count Zero is ok, and Mona Lisa Overdrive is meh.

I cringe just reading a summary of this; is it actually good or is it zany, rick and mortyesqye schlock?

>Really good sci-fi
Everyone on the planet says that about Dune and yet all I read was a harry potter tier pile of YA shit.

>> No.15861385

Intentionally obscure language. I think the difficulty to imagine the scenes is because Gibson is trying to make an ugly world that you wouldn't want to live in.
I enjoyed it.

DnD cyberpunk, the book. It's where it all started.

what did you think of God Emporer?

The world building/philosophy that it puts forward is really cool. I like how it says human society is a biological computer and weren't truly thinking things until very recently. Probably the first NPC meme.

Listen to the Shadowrun and SMT1 soundtracks while you read.

its great, it helps also reading a bit of acc literature and early land. doing so will make the world building translate to some interesting philosophical musings but its not a must

Bump. Snow Crash is an awesome follow up in a similar vein. Neuromancer itself is awesome, I personally really enjoyed the prose even in its more overtly noir moments. Also how does no one talk about the fact that Inception ripped off the ending

I read it recently and it was okay. His prose is bad like people mentioned earlier but the plot is solid and some of the imagery is really cool

>> No.15862558

>>15861250
a good premise with some ok parts that ends up like a half-baked campaign of shadowrun, though it's still praised because it established a new genre.

I hate these posts
How about "I just read this, ask me anything" posts? That would be a nice change
