...has anyone noticed there is little to no media that uses dinosaurs as characters? let alone books
you have plenty of stories using modern mammals and such, but all i can really think of for dinosaurs is....dinotopia...and even that is low fantasy with humans all over the place.

is it just an untapped medium or is there some kind of disconnection with dinosaurs in general?

i don't think dinosaurs are people

stop the dinosaur discrimination in literature!

>> No.1582937

what about jurassic park, and both the lost worlds?
and i'm sure there were a couple animorphs that had dinosaurs.
and besides, it'd be kinda hard to tell an interesting story about dinosaurs just chillin in their natural habitat.

My neighbor is a dinosaur. He just got laid off, and his children are going hungry. I know it's cliché and all: the green man has no job, 3 kids, and an animal dick.

For shame.

I read a book once, late nineties, where the plot was that dinosaurs didnt die, and evolved, and lived in secret amongst humans. The protagonist was one such dino, a detective or something. It was a mainstream book, i think it spawned a sequel, I wish I could remember its name.

i would say its disconnection, it was cool back when history was cool. thats not the case now. now whats cool is fantasy, because of the sick world we live in. fantasy provides relief. dinos do not.

We can do that, too. I just needed to feel that fleeting sense of false accomplishment for a moment.
