did a quick check and it seems from even quicker deduction that the vast majority of the books i own and currently have with me (around 100) use a serif font. it's common cheap books, old and new, and a few that are a little bit more rare. even the small independant publisher that prints texts from working-class guys telling about their experiences in the workplace use a serif font. is there a country on earth that uses sans serif more commonly that you OP feel shocked to find serif somewhere ? lol
