The genre he’s helped popularize is helpful for getting pre-teens and younger teenagers interesting in reading. It shows them that it’s still a valid medium that isn’t necessarily boring or dry.

Beyond that, there’s not much to say. There isn’t anything said in his books that hasn’t been said better by authors who didn’t feel the need to dumb themselves down for a specific audience.
