How does one reconcile being a Randhead with being a Christian?

Seems pretty retarted if you ask me

Because people are stupid and can’t be bothered to give a proper ontological foundation for their beliefs and values, it’s easier to take bits of what one likes and flimsily support it to give one what one wants. Another example:
You can’t reconcile belief in evolutionary biology and genetics with the idea that everyone is created equal in ability but most mainstream progressives do both, I’ve known progressives who got offended because they found out a study had found that Europeans and Africans have distinctive fat deposition processes, they didn’t want to acknowledge the paradox in their beliefs.
It’s the same with American Christians who support the most materialistic and soulless forms of consumerism

Why do atheists always feel they have knowledge of some sort of platonic ideal of religion that allows them the criticize believers.

Prosperity theology, which even some Catholics aren't immune to. The message is essentially anti-Christian so you're right to ask this question. To be a Randhead is to be an atheist.

What is exactly "retarded" about it
If you're trying to say its contradictory what about is so?

Whats even more retarded is being a leftist atheist then arguing for things you wanted Jesus to say

>In April 2012, after receiving criticism from Georgetown University faculty members on his budget plan, Ryan rejected Rand's philosophy as atheistic, saying it "reduces human interactions down to mere contracts".[210] He also called the reports of his adherence to Rand's views an "urban legend" and stated that he was deeply influenced by his Roman Catholic faith and by Thomas Aquinas.

I'm not a Christian. I just think its dumb for people who deliberately divorce themselves from long standing religious traditions to try to claim that the practice of a faith deriving from that tradition is illegitimate because it doesn't resemble a version of it that never really existed.

let's see what he has to say when he's not trying to get elected

>I grew up reading Ayn Rand and it taught me quite a bit about who I am and what my value systems are, and what my beliefs are. It’s inspired me so much that it’s required reading in my office for all my interns and my staff. We start with Atlas Shrugged. People tell me I need to start with The Fountainhead then go to Atlas Shrugged [laughter]. There’s a big debate about that. We go to Fountainhead, but then we move on, and we require Mises and Hayek as well.

>It’s so important that we go back to our roots to look at Ayn Rand’s vision, her writings, to see what our girding, under-grounding [sic] principles are. I always go back to, you know, Francisco d’Anconia’s speech (at Bill Taggart’s wedding) on money when I think about monetary policy. And then I go to the 64-page John Galt speech, you know, on the radio at the end, and go back to a lot of other things that she did, to try and make sure that I can check my premises so that I know that what I’m believing and doing and advancing are square with the key principles of individualism…

A Randhead would be a follower of Ayn Rand and her Objectivist philosophy. She believed in extreme individualism and relentless pursuit of self interest for greater goals. She is distinct from Nietzche in that she also felt the pursuit of power over other men for its own ends was another surrender to collectivism. She athiestic, deeply anticommunist, and felt that most charity was essentially contempt for ones fellow man. I found the Fountainhead to be an interesting read, but it ultimately fails to provide a compelling philosophy.
