yes

I have some sort of e-ink Kindle. Good thing. Sturdy. Light. 'Vocabulary builder' stores all the words I look up and lets me practice them with flashcards. My only gripe is that I can't read in the dark.

The experience is a lot better with paper but if you really want to go the digital route a kindle is your best bet.

Hol' up, I'm wondering whether reading on computer screen is bad for my eyes; any experts?
Also, how do I get better eyesight, lost some during my studies desu

>>15806661
No, it’s a myth computers are bad for your eyes. Pretty sure books aren’t either and your eyesight would have declined at that age no matter what you were doing

>> No.15806737

>>15806661
It's not bad for your eyes in the long term but when looking at a backlight for extended periods of time you might experience eye strain (temporary discomfort). If this isn't a problem for you, go for it.

Any recommendations for a cheap e-reader?

kindle's drawback is you have to convert everything to mobi and the native pdf reader is shit. apparently they're jailbreak-able. the e-ink is legitimately great, though. real easy on the eyes and the battery charges lasts for weeks even with regular use

I have been using a Kindle exclusively for the last coupe of years. I tried to read a paper book again a few weeks ago and it was a real pain in the ass. Only Kindle from now on.

Kobo Clara HD is the best option right now. Compact, has very customizable warm light, the UI looks great and loads pretty fast. It's pretty easy to load it books.

There's also a $10 case with a backstrap that turns off the ereader when you close it (via a magnetic thing). Fintie brand IIRC

Hmm what about PocketBook Basic Touch? I searched around and that one gets recommended as well
