I know it has this bad connotation but it’s very common. It sounds like you want to be fit for others not your yourself (yes, for yourself, so you can be confident, but your confidence comes from how others perceive you). To say it’s common would be an understatement, and if you own it instead of being “oh I’m not attention seeking” it can do wonders for your mental and physical health. It’s by no means a bad thing. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah for being a good teacher that’s really what matters, but it’s still fund development psych stuff especially things about parenting helpful for how I interact with these kids, like I can pick up what their home life might be like a lot of the time from talking about them and respong appropriately. I studied psych because it’s what I liked in hs though and it was easy enough to double major.

What psychologists do you like the most or recommend somebody read to further their understanding of it.
I have only read Freud and Jung who I enjoyed a lot but I understand that they are out of fashion in academia.
