Looking at the lists of favourite albums, the questions we should be asking in how does taste in music relate to taste in books, because I'm seeing terrible choices of music.
It's either hipster garabe (Bloc Party, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mingus etc) or high school outcast music (Strapping Young Lad, Nightwish etc.

I listened to Fishscale first, and it was the first rap album (other that Straight Outta Compton) that I really loved. Supreme Clientele is excellent, Ironman is excellent, everything else I feel like I have make some excuses for like I'm a battered girlfriend or something (he was going through a rough time, he means well, etc.)

I prefer 2001, though. The first time I heard it, I thought it was a greatest hit CD.

I should have put the first Biggie Smalls album in there, too.

Honestly wasn't impressed by Fishscale, probably just because it's a Wu album though and it has to be compared to like Supreme Clientele and OB4CL and Liquid Swords and shit.

Have you listened to any of Ice Cube's solo shit? Amerikkka's Most Wanted is pretty good. Also, if you aren't into it check out some southern rap. Like, Geto Boys, UGK, that shit is awesome.

That's enough to get you started

Bullshit. I remember you in a thread about universities a few months back, saying you wanted to do PPE at Oxford but you weren't sure if you'd fare well with the A-Levels you were taking (those exact A-levels). It hasn't reached September yet so you haven't got your A-Level results and you're definitely not at Oxford.

Oh no, not that one! I thought the filmmakers were more interested in filming themselves. "Blah blah blah, we had to walk for such a long time, I was only wearing this" and so on. And then it said NME described Gaahl as the most evil man in the world - it said he was the most evil man in metal... slight difference. Terrible doc in my opinion, but each to their own. It bit me on the neck - I was looking at this dead zebra (you don't see many dead animals without another animal eating on it), and I'd got out of the LandCruiser for a better look, when one of his mates came hooning over and bit me in the neck. It hurt like a motherfucker since you ask, and I high-tailed it back to the cruiser. In truth, I was glad it was only another zebra - a corpse that big in the serengeti is bound to attract lions. As well as being bit by a zebra, I once got threatened by squirrels - I was walking home from this casino I worked at and it was about 5am, and dark. I heard this rustling from a bin, and then about 15 squirrels all jumped out of the bin, meat still stuck between their teeth, and they fucking surrounded me, that was pretty scary, till they fucked off.

Oh, and I also saw a fox with a McDonald's bag, walking around with it in her teeth, and whenver she found anything tasty, she'd put it in the bag, presumably to take back to the cubs. One of the cutest and most awesome things I ever saw. I don't know if she was saving the toys from the happy meals, but I like to think that in their den, the cubs had a full set of power rangers or something.

My father-in-law was struck by lightning playing golf in florida - he said it was really weird, and he could smell tomatoes for about a week afterwards.

I don't believe you though, Mr. W00F, I think you're fibbing. I really was bitten by a zebra and threatened by squirrels though.

I also got bitten by a horse at a zoo in England, but that was my own fault for sticking my fingers throuhg the bars. And I got terrified by a giant tortoise when I was a kid, because I thought it was just a big rock and when it started to move, I flipped my teeny tiny shit.

I've never been very lucky with animals - a sheep once scared me so badly that I weed on myself (admittedly, I was having a piss in a field at the time, but that's another story)

I've always coasted through life, committed a dozen or so petty crimes during my teenage years and spent about three years after college doing nothing because I didn't need a job to get money, when my mum died, we fell into a fair bit of debt and I realised that I needed to start supporting the family financially (I'm the oldest child, I have some responsibility) and I started going out and looking for work, I'm working with a finance advisory firm at the moment as an intern, pay's poor, but I'm going to get a proper job there once this guy retires at the end of April.

Pretty much - people aren't as complicated as they like to think they are, and when someone lists 5 things they like, they're not actually telling you five things they like, they're putting their personality in the window - saying "look at me, this is who I am" - that's why people always say they're reading The Brothers Karamazov at the moment, they're either fucking slow readers, or they're telling us something about themselves that they think is cool. Your shop-window is like a butchers with no airco, it's just offputting and unpleasant.

Wow. So it's like the hand of glory in The Invisibles? A metaphysical intersection between realities? Supercool.

I hope the fact that I had to go and eat some food hasn't destroyed our burgeoning romance - I'm beginning to accept that everything you like may not, in fact, suck total balls. Besides, it's the differences between people that are important when you're in love, not the things the same. Tell me more about why you like IT so much? Coulrophobia, or clown love?

I once had a girlfriend who was a clown/children's entertainer, and one time I persuaded her to let me do her in her make-up and outfit.

Let's just say it was a big mistake: when the make-up smears, it's a bit shocking.

Pic related: when I saw this guy all those years later, memories came back to me in a rush of shame. And I got an inappropriately disturbing semi-chub.

Also concerning Kitano what out of his oeuvre would you recommend I see first?

I've been told before that I should see Dolls but I haven't got around to it yet.

Meh.. see Dolls last.

I would say watch
1. Sonatine
2. Hana-bi
3. Kids Return
4. Kikujiro
5. Boiling Point
6. A Scene at Sea

1 and 2 are essential and need to be seen

3 through 6 are my personal favs, but honestly in my opinion he has never made a bad movie, his worst movie is Brother, Dolls is sort of a one off type of thing and isn't very similar to the rest of his repertoire so I would recommend watching it later.

Terayama is absolutely fantastic, he and Matsumoto are probably my two favourite Japanese film makers.

Pity where I live it's really hard to find much from the Japanese new wave, there's still quite a lot I really need to see.
