What book could I read together with the girl I like?
We're not together yet properly but very close to being, and I thought a good way to spend time together could be taking interest in each other's hobbies.
I was thinking of reading The Hobbit with her, it's a nice easy read (she's not dumb but she doesn't read much), and it's quite comfy. I already have a spare copy she could read, but I'm worried about her finding it boring.
Is there any good gf-core lit that might make for a good option? Is it even a good idea?

no incel replies please.

an epistolary novel. whoever is reading has to read it as if the other person is the intended recipient. it worked for me and an ex girlfriend anyway.

Any specific recs? The only things I've really read that kinda has that style is Frankenstein, which I don't think she'd enjoy.

Yeah that part does worry me, or that she'll just read it because she feels obligated to rather than because it's enjoyable.

OP here, thought I'd mention: she speaks German pretty well, I thought about maybe reading something in English alongside her reading a German copy so we can compare the translation or something like that. Could be fun, and it'd give her an opportunity to practice.
But I don't know any comfy German books.

I read Deutschland ein Wintermärchen recently. I liked it and I usually don't enjoy poetry. I think it might require knowledge about German History and mentality tho

Maybe. I don't really read much poetry myself though. I've been meaning to read some W. B. Yeats, and I picked up a copy of his collected works recently and have read some here and there at random. Other than that I have basically no experience with poetry, which would make it difficult for me to reccommend her anything.
I feel like reading poetry might be a bit cliche anyway. Not sure she'd enjoy it.
