>Voldemort: I'm Hitler! I'm going to kill all the wizards!
>Harry: Killing is wrong!
>Voldemort: I'm going to kill you, Potter!
>Harry: That's bad!
>Voldemort: I'm casting my instant-kill spell! Avada Kedavra!
>Harry: Oh no, he's trying to kill me and everyone I love! I better cast the disarming spell! After all, I don't want to hurt Hitler!

Actually Harry Potter is for children, but some people just can't grow up. It's an okay series for a kids, but had many of the usual problems of youth/ya media.

why wouldnt you when the disarming spell seems to be no less effective. you can harvest his memories to make your biopic about him afterwards.

I remember finding Harry Potter uninteresting as a kid, then I see 30 year old women wearing HP merch as everyday clothing and am like eeeee

>> No.15611177

Not gonna lie, I loved HP as a kid and still hold it in fond memory. I used to devour the books, reading Order of the Phoenix (then a behemoth to me) in five days.
The books obviously suffer from many imperfections, but they‘re obviously great books for children/young teenagers (up to like 14).
The problem is how long the series survived, especially with the movies etc. The original readers grew up and instead of advancing to YA books and eventually literature, just stuck to HP. It became a staple of millennial culture for no reason.
