If you're anything like me, you need to work yourself up to tackle a particularly long book.

So what are the "big books" you have on your to-do list?

I have Stalingrad by Vasily Grossman sitting on my shelf collecting dust. I'll get around to it soon.

>> No.15585859

Don Quixote, Moby Dick, Histories, and that Durant stuff. Though I should delve in every now and then.
Can’t tell which of my ebooks are that large without looking in, but I have EVERYTHING of Emerson.

Hey, I distinctly see aroela peeking out of there.
Thanks

I have Gargantua and Pantagruel, Life and Fate, and The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy Gentleman all waiting to be read. Currently I'm half way through Don Quixote. I want to finish two more of these before I return to school in September.

>> No.15586903

>Mémoires d'outre-tombe (Chateaubriand)
>Don Quijote
>Les Miserables
>À la recherche du temps perdu
>Die Daemonen (Doderer)
>2666
>Gargantua and Pantagruel
these I want to read, currently I'm reading Cioran and The Savage Detectives. Probably gonna read Don Quijote sometime this year and maybe 2666 too. There's no hurry on the others.

Read Quijote over a year ago. I'm Spanish, so I read the OG. Not all that difficult if you're a native. Took me about two months to read Book I and another two to read Book II - read them about a year apart. Definitely worth it. I'd recommend reading one chapter at a time - from what I remember, each is composed so as to be enough and not more for a single reading session.

War and Peace is next on my reading list, then The Brothers Karamasov and The Count of Monte Cristo sometime after that.

I also have Capital and Mein Kampf, but I have more background reading to do on those first.
