When I was 11 there was a secondhand bookstore that had two stories full of books stacked like this. I went there to buy some old trade paperbacks, and the lady who owned the store gave me one more for free.

The next time I went with my friends, and I was one of those kids who was fine on his own, but a total dick when with 'the boys', so we went upstairs, and while they stood watch I turned on the tap in the bathroom an locked the door. Then we both left.

We then heard that the entire first floor (all the shelves, books) were ruined by water damage.

I actually love to look at shelves like that. Just imagining what goes on in the owners minds. It's like looking at the down syndrome, it has its curiosities isn't it? It's like human but not really human at the same time, uncanny qualities.

Hi OP. Based Pop collection my dude. Can you advise me on this? My tulpa is trying to take control (she's a bit of a bully) and I only have a rough 51% ownership. She is trying to take over at least 51%. It's been a real struggle. I want to create another tulpa to assist, but that would mean she is controlling shareholder of ourselves. As a female she is subversive by nature. I never thought she would be using that again me tho!

At least you're solidly committing to the whole gaudy Easton press approach, it only looks lame when half-assed. Besides, their books certainly are made well. I only own the one Easton Press, copy of Canticle for Leibowitz since I couldnt find any other printings I liked enough, it's nice.

I'm less into eagles, but alsk went with nicely made wood shelving, have finally shed all IKEA trappings, with some small safisfaction. I could never spring for the collection in Easton or Folio, so I've opted for cohesion in Everyman's Library for my classics, and a solid shelf of SF Masterworks for contrast.

Speaking of Folio, anyone own a copy of their Starship Troopers edition? It's another scifi classic I would love to own, that like Canticle isn't in Masterworks printing currently.

English manga in general is pretty obscenely priced. You can import manga from Japan, pay for fast 1-3 day shipping, and worst case you end up paying the same as you would for the English volume. Sometimes you're paying less than half price. I get that manga is a niche product in the English speaking world but my god is it ever overpriced.

Oh yeah I know I buy English manga from Indigo when they have sales and it's pretty pricey, but I mean some of these second hand places will try to charge $40 for a single volume of One Piece and stuff.
Plus you kind have to know how to read Japanese to really take advantage of that.
I'm a buyfag so I've seen the prices for full sets of Jap manga series vs English and damn I really need to learn Japanese.
It'd be nice to get the most out of my physical hentai manga and doujins too rather than just remembering the translations from online.

Its pretty great. Its like a 100 year collection, so until they start drastically weeding stuff out you can find almost anything. Lots of Loeb classics collections, multiple translations of St. Augustine, etc.
One of the only English books on Madeleine de Verchères I could find is there.
Decent enough manga collection too while we're on the topic. I read of all Nozaki-kun from there.
