It's literally short summaries of the harder to read poems and epics. You'll be fine, dude. Google words you're unfamiliar with and perhaps write down anything interesting or confusing in a notebook. Remember you don't necessarily have to remember all the things from that book, like first poster said, it's a primer to get you in the know of the characters and ideas that are heavily presented in Homer
