Anybody who has some type of principled stance against e-readers is an actual fucking retard

he is patrician so he knows that a designated device for reading is retarded.
Obviously he just uses his phone or his computer or his tablet

probably
only people who don't read books at all or like to write on the books they read dislike e-readers

>> No.15473262

It's a pseud thing. You can't signal your social status with an eReader.

>> No.15473276

The biggest slight against ereaders is that they look fucking gay

>> No.15473290

>>15472901
Reminder: it has been scientifically proven that you retain less information when you read it off a screen. E-readercels are, by their very nature, midwits.

>> No.15473528

>>15473290
yeah no
one study with 15 people is no proof
but ofc ereadercels and papercels should kneel before phonechads

>read book on phone reading app
>screenshot all pages I find important
>reread them later and take notes on paper
I've managed to retain so much of every book I've read this way it's not even funny, it is legit

i like the weight of a big book, it makes me feel involved as i clear through it

Gives you the additional benefit of being able to skip retarded publishers and their shit typography.

Have you never had an e-reader? They have extremely long battery lives and are readable outside

>> No.15473675

>>15473642
E-readers have extremely long battery lives, they also function extremely well under sun light since they use a radically different display technology then e.g. smartphones.

>> No.15473687

Ereaders, with e ink illuminated high resolution display, preferably larger than 6 inch, are superior to physical books in almost every way.

This is out of date, but you can figure out what the newer model equivalents are pretty easy.

Depends on where you live and how much you want to pay.
Kindles are the most common but file types are locked down.
Some nice models that cost between 100-300 euros
>PocketBook Touch Lux 4, nice 6'' reader
>PocketBook Touch HD 3 slightly fancier than the above
>Kobo Clara, good alternative to the Kindle if you care about ebook stores
>Boox Nova, 8'' ereader that can be used to take notes
>Likebook Mars, android based reader so you can mess around with apps
>Likebook Ares, comes with note-taking functionality

Jesus these models are like a decade old

>> No.15474190

The only purpose for ereaders is when you really want to read a book and it’s basically out of print or you would never want someone to ever know that you have read it, even just for entertainment, like Protocols of the Elders of Zion

For manga get a tablet or a large screen Boox (which is just a Chink android tablet with an eink display). Reading on a Kindle can be done but the screen is small and it's a pain in the ass afaik (conversion needed if you pirate shit).
