Sup /lit/.
I came here for suggestions on what books I could read, as I've just finished the book in my pic, and I'm trying to find others like it. Yes, the writing is terrible and it seems as if it was written for someone with an IQ of 5, but it still helped me out a lot with some problems I've been facing lately so I enjoyed it. I'm really not into books that are heavily fantasy/fiction based, which is probably why I ended up reading this. Basically what I've been searching for is a book that fits somewhat into the same category as this one without having the same writing style as a damn Shakespeare book or something (not saying that style is bad, but I just don't tend to connect with it). For the life of me I couldn't find any that I would actually be interested in reading, so I figured some of you here may be able to help.

TL;DR - I'm looking for suggestions for books that aren't strongly fiction based, don't use a complex writing style, and a person who regularly browses the asshole of the Internet can relate to.

Thanks in advance.
And by the way, the movie version of the book fucking sucked. Just in case you were considering watching it.

Chuck Palahniuk might fit. Try reading Choke or Survivor.

For a psych ward set-up, you could never go wrong with One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (it's NOT a funny story).

Thanks, I haven't really heard of either of those. I'll definitely look into them a bit.

I was considering watching the movie for this one, didn't even know there was a book. I'll look into it as well, thanks.

Huh. I thought it fit rather well, considering how the thread had been sitting empty for hours with no responses, thus making me forever alone.

Guess it was the dim light darkness that made it creepy.

Oh wow, I completely forgot about that book, and I was meaning to pick it up a year or two ago. I'll be sure to read it, thanks.

By the way, has anyone read Water for Elephants? I saw it when I was browsing through lists of books and thought it sounded pretty interesting.
