this is the thread for /lit/ losers who are shut up in their rooms on a friday night

But my friends are working tomorrow, so we're going out tomorrow night instead. Stop assuming we're all losers just because you are.

don't be so defensive bro. i'm not holed up in my room every night, but i am tonight, and when an occasion like that falls on a weekend it is okay to make jokes that suggest that you will be eaten by your own cats after your death

I don't have a ninetofive or school, so Friday is pretty irrelevant. Nonetheless, I came up with Spontaneous Celebration Day. Here are the rules

0. Spontaneous Celebration Day only occurs on Friday
1. If the Dow Jones Industrial Average closes on doubles, it is SCD
2. SCD has no particular activity attached to it other than celebration

Also, I'm going out in about an hour. PST, children. It's 3:30 over here.

For once in my life I have a date

I was at a party at some shitty apartment in Glasgow last night (North Street) where they were trying too hard. (Wolf Parade, Broken Social Scene, Neutral Milk Hotel on the stereo, B&W European cinema on the TV) I'm not going out tonight because I don't have the money oe ability to manage to nights in a row anymore. I'm not my college self.

That said, I like being sad and alone.

It's times like these I wish /lit/ was all gathered in one real-life physical room so we could all get nutty off a couple of Smirnoff Ices, discuss junior-year high school assigned reading, and dry-hump each other

I'll be going to a club party, organized by our sister sorority, who are too professional to have fun, drink and enjoy our fleeting lives that pass too quickly. I'm in a good mood because I just read the feel good ending of War and Peace, and am aware that I shall feel differently in an hour, a day, or a week, but for now that's all fine.

>supposed to go to friends party

>text of other friend 'doing anything tonight'
>fuck it
>stay in, eat pancakes, get drunk and post on /lit/
>no work tommorrow.

feels meh man

Totally unrelated question: I am getting drunk, I am itching to read Hemminway's For Whom the Bell Tolls. Do these two activities go well together?

Most writes go back and forth on the drinking and writing thing. As in, okay, maybe it sometimes works. A lot of times it doesn't. Alcohol, like inspiration, is not something you should rely on if you want to get into the writing game.
