There are also a lot of secondary sources directly interpreting and explaining Lacan. They're probably gonna be both easier and more accurate than whatever Zizek's most recent interpretation is.

Zizek, like a number of other philosophers (e.g. Badiou), writes serious philosophical books but also more commonly accessible cultural-journalistic pamphlets. The latter need not have the profundity of the former; it's just his hot take, and isn't a very good one.
