And if you'd prefer that I posted proper books.

My dad's copy of Playboy

Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy.

And the irony is I wasn't even old enough to really get it back then, but I still loved them. I reread them recently, and I find it hard to believe the third book was really intended for a younger audience, what with Lyra and Will saving the world by (possibly) fucking in the woods.

Did they really fuck?

I thought i was just being immature when i read the books and thought that.

It's *strongly* suggested, and it's not "immature" at all. That's the entire point. It's an inversion of the usual loss of innocence story, where the loss of innocence is what saves humanity, rather than damns it. At that point Lyra and Will aren't kids anymore, despite their age.

The problem with them being marketed as young adult novels is that most kids most likely don't get it. I certainly didn't, when I first read them.

It wasn't written as a young adult novel. It was marketed as such, though, which is kind of silly given the nature of the content.

oh wow - forgot all about this. Reminds me of sneaking into my parents' room to steal my dad's books back in the day. Overall though I either go with the OP or Harriet the Spy

the wind in the willows. the book reads like a soft spring breeze.

the little prince too

no. although there are adult themes in the book it's written in a way where children can get one thing out of it and adults another.

Oh come on, it's obviously implied that there's at least some sexual action that stops the flow of Dust out of the universe. Wouldn't be much of a loss of innocence, otherwise. It's the climax of the entire series, ffs - they do more than kiss and say "I love you."

"The word love set his nerves ablaze. All his body thrilled with it, and he answered her in the same words, kissing her hot face over and over again, drinking in with adoration the scent of her body and her warm, honey-fragrant hair and her sweet, moist mouth that tasted of the little red fruit.
Around them there was nothing but silence, as if all the world were holding its breath."

I'd say that's pretty unambiguous as to what they do next.
