After arguing over politics with my sister, it struck me that she was right: I don't have super nuanced views or a original philosophy, I'm just a contrarian.
Somehow I find pleasure feeling like an alien wherever I am, judging everyone, not fully engaging with any established group just so I can keep myself "above" it
I'm disappointed in how much of a teenage movie trope it sounds, but it's true...

It almost certainly isn't, and you're a faggot for falling for that low-grade psychological trick for even one second.

Feminism, and how men are more prone to cheat their wives.
I said marriage as a whole was a failed instiution nowadays, with technology and the possibility of divorce. Then she said "yeah, before that men could rape their wives and it was no big deal".
This mainstream narrative, and the fact that you can paint male behavior (specially in the past) with those broad generalizing brushtrokes and be immediately considered smart and "woke". Such bullshit...

>I said marriage as a whole was a failed instiution nowadays, with technology and the possibility of divorce.
You're a quarter of the way there, OP, but it has nothing to do with technology.
>Then she said "yeah, before that men could rape their wives and it was no big deal".
She's completely wrong about that, but you should not bother arguing this point unless you're prepared to make people shout and scream. "Marital rape" did not exist as a concept prior to the 20th century, and it was not enforced in law until the second half of that century, but that does not mean that men were allowed to violently force their wives to have sex with them with no repercussions.
OP, you feel for her retarded trick. People who believe in literally anything will pull that "you're just a contrarian!" trick when dealing with people who disagree with them. I suggest that you
1. Avoid getting into discussions with others in real life, unless you're a graduate student or something similar. Keep relations pleasant and simple, and don't waste time with people who disagree with you.
2. Read, read, read. If you're genuinely interested in these topics, nothing but reading will be able to satisfy you. Waste no more time on petty squabbles, and go read about whatever it is that interests you.
