Usually have a shit attention span and barely stomach more than half an hour of reading
I Can read for hours while listening to Post-Rock music like GY!BE
Anyone else?

Nobody gives a fuck about your reading habits, to be honest, and if you are honest, you don't give a fuck about anyone else's reading habits either. If you have an interesting analysis of a book you have read or an interesting take on an author's ouvre, we may discuss that, but discussions about how we read strike me as incredibly womanish, frankly.

Try this: read for 25minutes and then have a 5-10min break. Then read again for 25min an have a break again and so on. Realy rest your brain during that break, so no Smartphone, Computer, etc.

Push through, sometimes it's after half an hour or something I get more into the story. reading for short periods like 15 minutes is almost pointless to me

Well, then do it in breaks as >>15368897 sais or simply read 30 minutes every day, is not about speed but endurance.

Unironic zoomer here, what the fuck am I supposed to do if I'm not reading, listening to a podcast, or watching a youtube video? Just zone out and watch paint dry?

I've found out that reading/studying (heavy cognitive resource activity) combined with a light cognitive resource activity (light doodling, using a grip trainer, atmospheric music, ...) works great to keep my attention on the book.

I expect never for the same reason threads like this will occur and there will always be womanish morons to post in them. Not talking about books, talking about their experience of reading books, is an act of vanity, an attention-seeking ploy. To people who behave in that way the notion they have, in some way, affected another human being, caused them to feel something and therefore received an ounce of their attention, is affirming, a vindication of their otherwise meaningless lives. I am contemptuous of them, but honestly, they must warrant some pity, because for reasons which surely cannot be entirely their fault, they never graduated into the realm of higher cognition and they will never experience the giddy highs of critical thinking.
