> « On rentre dans une période où on doit en quelque sorte enfourcher le tigre, et donc le domestiquer, a expliqué M. Macron, bras de chemise relevés et ton offensif. Il ne va pas disparaître le tigre, il sera là. Et la peur [du Covid-19] sera là dans la société (…) Le seul moyen que [le tigre] ne nous dévore pas, c’est de l’enfourcher. »

> We're entering a period where we have to ride the tiger and domesticate it," said Macron, shirt arms raised and your offensive. The tiger won't disappear, it will be there. And the fear [of the Covid-19] will be there in society... The only way [the tiger] won't devour us is to ride it. »

politicians have been incompetent since the oil crunch, but they were good at communication
Since Holland, any politician is bad at both, because There has not been any intellectual in france and no ideology, jsut living on their past and thinking they are important because of some seat at the UN.
Macron is the pinnacle of the republic by the secular bourgeois

Indeed you aren’t French, because no Frenchman in his right mind would say such nonsense. Considering how he’s undoing the legacy of the CNR and his eurolatry, comparing him with De Gaulle is ludicrous to say the least.

He is against Russian interference in EU matters, sets himself free from Germany, is against the silliest aspects of US foreign policy and most importantly know about the potential danger of China globally. He is a good leader for France and Europe. France should be proud.

>>15361346
>never held an elected office before
He got elected president

>was a banker, then an economic counselor to a president he backstabbed
He was Minister of the Economy and Industry so he isn't ignorant of how to do the job

>is friends with media moguls who pushed his candidacy like no other
He is a politician, that's true.

>wants more immigrants and less social security
I believe he does - or at least he intends to do - the exact opposite actually.

>more EU and less sovereignty
Which is not a bad thing; better stronger through EU together (where we choose waht EU we want and how) rather than weaker in the global stage with full sovereignty on paper and playing China's or Russia's game for instance though Chinese companies (supported by the Chinese state and playing unfair) or Russian intervention though funding of opposion parties like Le Pen's party for instance.

>talks about trickle-down economics in 2020, cut taxes for the rich while raising taxes dedicated to retirement plans
France needs to strengthen the economy and if anyone knows how to do that, it's him.

He is a good leader.

>>15361277
>Indeed you aren’t French
Indeed I am not but I am a European and I want to see a strong France leading in Europe and in the world because I love France and it's in my best interest, too. It's a different prespective, removed from the blindness of everyday politics.

I believe that if someone can restore France, it's him; make France stable, reduce immigration, strengthen the economy and French foreign policy.

France has done some very good moves through Total in the EEZ of Cyprus and has used French navy to secure French interest against Turkish claims. An interesting move geopolitically, strategically and economically.

>>15361252
At first France is already great. All you have to do is strengthen your economy, especially now in the context of Brexit, become stronger in the realm of foreign policy as you already do in the frame of European and French best interests, you have to take the leading role in the EU because Germany isn't suited for the role and doesn't want the role. Such a France could stabilize its interior and solve the interior problems as Macron would have political capital to spend on doing just that because the French people would know that France is strong again.

You ignorant leeching nigger, you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Sovereignty is the number 1 definer of democracy. The EU was imposed to Europeans in spite of a referendum, and it forces countries to follow rules that only serve big corporations and slowly kills local business. Macron is not "just a politician", he had never been elected before being put to the forefront out of sheer luck and lack of credible alternative, his election was a great swindle, he was not elected by the majority of voting-age citizens, and was only elected because of the spook of "the evil nazis" that the other candidate supposedly represented, he is personal friends with people who own the media, and listens to his friends in influential liberal capitalist think tanks. ALL TV channels parrot the government's talking points, there is absolutely no dissenting voice in mainstream media, which is unprecedented. He has no leadership but wants to be regarded as Jupiter. He absolutely wants more immigration, in part to break down workers' rights. Trickle down economics have been debunked time and again, and he believes in a hyper-hierarchical society where the rich supposedly do all the work and deserve all the benefits. His reform of retirement funds is a joke whose punchline is private pension funds (friends of his, again). You sound like a 19yo business school student who fantasizes about economic growth. He is the puppet candidate of globalist interests, and his election only benefits them. He is absolutely not the candidate of stability, he said himself that he wants disruption in order to make the structural changes he deems "difficult but necessary". You do not know anything about French politics, and have a very poor understanding of France's role within the EU, and of the EU with regards to the rest of the world. Shut the fuck up.

great stuff

The EU was put in place despite the resounding "no" from voters, it's anti-democratic. No law should be imposed to a country without the consent of the lawmakers of said country, let alone the citizens.

Talk to yourself. The only problem is that such populist views like yours deceive people, like they did in Greece before the crisis and during the crisis, even appearing to be left on same cases and right on others. I only pray that sane minds preveil and let France reach its maximum potential. But even if people with similar views preveil and cause damage, we will be here even after that for our countries and EU.

>>15364172
>The EU was put in place despite the resounding "no" from voters, it's anti-democratic.
Parliaments and/or people have voted so that their respective countries can enter EU. Noone forced anyone, you do realize that. But then again, we are so oppresive that we let UK leave by referendum.

If you think that EU is oppressive, why don't you go live in more free places like China, Russia, Turkey and most countries of the Middle East, Venezuela, North Korea etc; go to the main square of each capital and yell "there is no Democracy here" and see what happens. It's weird because you seem to be able to express your objections freely on the Internet, which is not a given in most countries.

We tend to take for granded our culture, our wealth, our freedom of speech and especially, I am afraid, our democracy; because in France as in the rest of the EU (and to join EU your country *has* to be a Democracy) you can vote whomever you want to represent you and change things according to what you think is right, even if that may be wrong. So probably you are not oppresed. Unless you believe that the result of Democratic elections is an oppretion just because you disagree with it in which case noone can do nothing about.
