Was this the point where it was all over?
It was like Peterson didn't even know who is opponent was.
Why did he schedule a debate without knowing anything about his opponent? Is he really that arrogant?

JP assumed Zizek would defend Communism, and SZ just treated the event as mainly another one of his lectures. And then SZ slipped in a few criticisms of JP's ideas (i.e. "clean your room"). I don't see much more in the debate than that. It certainly made JP look a little silly, and he even admitted that. But both are still top tier in today's society, and any time they speak publically, I take that as a win. Anything to expose the retardation on the left to more and more people is good to me...if people like SZ, JP, and those similar to them were not doing so, wtf would public discourse be, except hyperwoke antiwhite gay/woman superiority?

At this point, he was pretty far gone, xanned out. He's not a dumb guy but he was in a bad place here. He got swept along for a good year, just showing up continued to work, here it was too plain there was a limit

I mean, imagine going to a formal debate against Zizek and thinking an appropriate topic for your opening is a critique of the communist manifesto.
The audience literally laughed out loud at him.

How many bars do you think he popped backstage before coming out?
Do you think he was sweating and shaking and puking into the toilet in some shitty basement bathroom right before the show started?
He sounded like he was about to cry at several parts.

Friendly reminder to all that people like >>15346806 regularly post on this board, with near no knowledge of the world outside this board and youtube. We should do better to vacate and find some place better

They could be debating Peterson's dissertation paper and Zizek would still top him for fun. The difference in general knowledge and presence was obvious.

>criticising a pamphlet meant for pleb consumption rather than his serious philosophical works
The problem isn't with criticising marx, its with criticising what is literally a piece of propaganda.

>That wasn't real communism
>That's not the real Marx
>Late Green Day isn't the real Green Day, only their early work is good

Why are commies so cringeworthy holy crap.

It's literally agitprop. It has zero philosophical content and doesn't elaborate on anything. If you're an intellectual and you want to discuss IDEAS, coming to a debate about marxism having only read what isn't even the cliffnotes of das kapital is shameful.

>>15347087
This isn't a no true scotsman you moron, its a criticism of Peterson being completely unprepared to talk about marxism beyond a pamphlet of platitudes, provocations and calls to action. Either he is too lazy to put the effort in and read the real meat of Marx's ideas, or he's simply an intellectual charlatan.

I realize your just being disingenuous and are probably very young but nonetheless, The Communist Manifesto was written as a piece of light propoganda to explain basic notions of communism to workers with very little time for complex economic or social theories. If you want to understand Marx's theories fully enough to do a proper criticism I would recommend reading Das Kapital. However a basic understanding of his ideas can be gathered from reading the manifesto along side afew other short works like Critique of the Gotha Program.
By critquing the manifesto on its own Peterson demonstrated a complete ignorance of Marx's actual theories.

there are still people on /lit/ who defend peterson, a guy who fits all the criteria of a platonic sophist. I am not even a zizek fan but anybody with half a brain realises that he is atleast well read in what he is talking about. I think it is time to leave this board and never return.
