How is the wheel of time? I loved reading Dune and "A song of Ice and Fire". Will I enjoy Wheel of Time?

If you loved a song of ice and fire dogshit then you'll see what real fantasy is when you read this

Most insufferable archetypal sneed protagonist in literature ever, but everything else has some merit. Would read Hyperion Cantos before this, and pic. related.

I couldn't get past the fourth book, OP.
I enjoy how descriptive Jordan is, and the almost innocent charm he imbibes his characters and their thoughts with. It's probably the closest you'll come to recreating the charm of the Lord of the Rings.
That being said, it is far far too long, and reading it is far more laborious than the more accessible Song of Ice and Fire. Do not go in expecting the very sexed up dark fantasy of Martin, but perhaps a more long-winded, less groundbreaking Tolkien.
Others seem to like it, so you might.

I get that you guys hate ASOIAF, but I bet a thousand that you still read it and fanboyed around it for almost a decade if not more. I was just honest enough to admit it.

Never said I hated ASOIAF, lad. It was the series that got me into fantasy, and 15 year old me was genuinely blown away by it. Swearing and promiscuity, in medieval times? It honestly cracked my entire view of literature and history, no joke.
I reread it for the first time in like 2017, and while at that point, having read a variety of fantasy since then, I could recognize that it was a watered down and overly sexed up product, designed to appeal to the masses, I can still say its still a solid starter series.
That being said, I loathe the TV series as it's basically softcore porn with an okay sense of humour. I'm repulsed by almost everything about it.

I genuinely thought you were being sarcastic. But thanks for the elaboration.

It's alright. You will likely enjoy it, but get bored or frustrated with the pacing sometime in the middle.

There are six protagonists, six important characters who are basically sub protagonists, and then 13 additional characters that the series devotes a novella's worth of writing to their POV. Jordan does not do a good job of managing this large cast, and there are entire books where primary protagonists do basically nothing as a consequence.
