I got into philosophy, because I grew out of Christianity, so I wanted to understand the different ways people cope with a secular world view, not that secular view are innately better or anything. I quite like Buddhism for example.

The New Testament and Nietzsche, except unironically. Also, some actual non-theologically tainted New Testament scholarship as well as studying the history of the early church. As sad as it is to say, I grew out of christianity by watching youtube videos of Sam Harris, Dawkins and Hitchens, and not by reading books. Although I started seeing the contradictions and things that plainly did not make sense in christianity before I encountered those personalities: that's why I was interested in what they had to say in the first place.
