Went on a date with a coworker. When books were brought up, she told me how she loves Harry Potter. I internally was let down, but I told her about Dresden Files, which may not be a masterpiece, but it's a step up from HP. Ended up only feeling platonic towards her, so I still recommend good books to her. Sometimes you got to meep people half way, especially with the opposite sex.

there is nothing wrong with reading a children's book; I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy is OP's post where we laments towards reading HP but loves the hobbit. They are more or less the same hero's journey and simplified english that is written towards children.

Not in the way The Hobbit is a children's book but is also quite well written and enjoyable at older ages. Harry Potter is literally only for children. Its written simplistically and uses language easily digestible by children.

I fucking hate seeing dumbasses like you squander the good things they have in life. Who honestly gives a shit that she likes Harry Potter, are you really gonna value the opinion of some anonymous faggot on a vietnamese noodle making website over a tangible human being you interact with on a regular basis? Shit, she even sounded like she was interested in learning how to read books within your interests, that's rare as hell in lost people, let alone women, these days. Quit taking /lit/ so seriously and learn to tolerate other people's interests and tastes, life will be so much more bearable that way.
