It's good, interesting speculative tech, exciting fight scenes, child br*des, interesting philosophical questions about leadership, it may not be the best in each of these things but as a whole it works very well to be a good quick read or a slower more reflective read, it's good.

Never heard of anyone with this opinion. Everyone i've spoken to or general opinions on it i've seen is that it only gets worse (with the exception of some people thinking the 4th book is the best).
