What do you think of the Dewey Decimal System, /lit/?

i think it can suck my dick

I think if this is the best topic you got tonight, you should go to bed.

>> No.1525969

I remember having to learn this in elementary

AND FOR WHAT?

my library has piles of those old cards to use for scratch paper

>> No.1525971

It's biggest problem is one it shares with most classification systems: it runs into problems when people start writing books about stuff that doesn't quite fit into the established categories. For example, the 000 section at my library is at least half filled by computer-related books.

I think the best use of the Dewey Decimal System is when a funnel is placed into an asshole, and a second whore pukes into it. After the ass is filled with puke, Dewey then fucks it until the pressure is all built up. After the asshole has been fucked hard enough, the cock is pulled out and the anal cannon explodes! To top it all off, ass to mouth occurs, with both ladies licking off the fresh mix of vomit and ass for the ultimate decimal system.

The main problem I've got with Dewey is that it can't classify non-prose books very well. Movies and music are just thrown together in A/V, and comic books are all under "Art and Illustration."

Yeah. Comic books belong in the children's section.

Hah! I just had to learn how to look up books on the computer and how, if they're available, to find them based on the information on the computer.
Oddly enough, today I know how to navigate the library and the bookstore better than I know how to use the library's website.

I agree that, especially in the non-fiction section, there are often annoying ambiguities.

It was the best we had until these newfangled computers. Kids these days will never know the joy of being capable of going to the front of the library and using the big boy "fifty shelves and ten million cards" cabinet to find a book

Hmm, you sound like an asshole. The worst kind of asshole, too. The kind of young punk that isn't wise enough to know he's an asshole

>> No.1526029

It's funny that you're talking about asshole, because there is this story about a funnel, which is placed into an asshole, and a second whore pukes into it. After the ass is filled with puke, a cock then fucks it until the pressure is all built up. After the asshole has been fucked hard enough, the cock is pulled out and the anal cannon explodes! To top it all off, ass to mouth occurs, with both ladies licking off the fresh mix of vomit and ass for the ultimate asshole story.

I would use LoC for my book collection, but I don't have nearly enough books to make it worthwhile.
