Russian doesnt tranlate well to english, you'll be left with a husk of a book. If you know any other language try that. Romance languages and some slavic ones capture the feel of the book much better. Otherwise learn russian, if you haven't read much russian literature it'll be worth it

Only on lit do you get recommended unironically to learn an entire language to read its works of literature when you ask what the general consensus is on the best translation, never change

Don't use my fucking girl on your newfag Dostoevsky hatepost. You only hate him because 1) it's too long for your fried brain to enjoy and 2) you parrot the opinions of others. Fuck off my board; back to v with you.

not him but my best guess would be to start with learning the alphabet, learn the grammar (libgen.is has a lot of free pdfs that will help you out with this) then I guess maybe trying to learn the basic words and phrases like "hello my name is X" or "How are you doing" and then slowly build up your vocab by conversing with Russians of various forums and perhaps irl if you can find some. once your able to understand books in that are written in Russian I imagine your skill in the language will grow drastically.

Join a Russian learning community online so you'll get to use the language. Get old high school text books for the grammar. Whenever you encounter a new word, write it up. I recommend using Quizlet for memorising that vocabulary.
