Just finished this. I feel unbearably sad, like something is missing. I can't even begin to articulate what reading this meant to me. What books will help me fill this void?

idk, but reading 2666 helped

TSD is really a formative book for me, I read it when I was 18 years old, 5 years ago. It was summer. Honestly it was a sublime experience.
I think reading it the summer when you're 18 years old is the best moment to read this book...

Incredible book. Bolaño’s writing, at least to me, celebrates the creation of art and literature in all of its forms. Are you sad because you finished reading it? Or did the book make you sad, and if so, what parts? Also I just finished 2666 the other day and I highly suggest you read that too but give it some time maybe.

I am sad because I will no longer be able to spend time with the characters (although I heard Belano appears in his other books).

>>15239907
Funny you said that because I’m 18

And thank you for the suggestion btw

Does anyone else love Bolaño’s dry, matter of fact writing style?
He doesn’t use flowery language or overly complex sentences. He just says what he wants to say and that’s it

Read estrella distante and then nocturno de chile. Learn spanish afterwards then study the history of a small south american country you don't really care about.

based, feels good being Chilean and understanding every Chilean reference

lol, welcome to the beginning!

Go to 2666. Then go to Estrella Distante.

Being 18 and reading this book during the Summer is truly the right time, same here. 25 now, Bolaño is still my favorite author.

Are any of you the faggots from the Bolaño fan group in Facebook? Because those cunts are insufferable and you sound just like them.
