In regards to the upcoming film "The Avengers", Mark Ruffalo has been cast as the Hulk character. With this charcter going through two actors including Edward Norton and its history, Mark Ruffalo has stated this in regards to the character he will be playing:

"I'm a friend of Ed's, and yeah, that wasn't a great way for all that to go down. But the way I see it is that Ed has bequeathed this part to me. I look at it as my generation’s Hamlet"

Discuss, should Mark Ruffalo die or be considered a genius for recognizing how closely related The Hulk and Hamlet are in style and critical acceptance?

I know.

The Hulk came from the idea of mixing Frankenstein's Monster with Jekyll and Hyde. Victorian horror was certainly influenced by Shakespeare a great deal, it may be interesting to further follow up if Hamlet influenced the Hulk somehow.
