...and why we are never going back to a pre-Ideological state?

I can call myself a Traditionalist, Reactionary, Paleo-Conservative or Nationalist but all of these are ultimately derivatives of Fascism by the modern benchmark that Liberals have set. I mean, given this definition everyone would have been a Fascist all the way up to the Enlightenment, you see what I'm saying?

So for how long are we going to be stuck in this Communist-Liberal-Fascist trichotomy?

The only reason people weren't ideological in ye olden days is because they were illiterate peasants who never left the boundaries of the village they were born in. Unless you're planning on regressing society to such a point then you're going to have to deal with ideology.

So what you’re saying is that ideology is born out of mans ability to reason? Where can I learn more about this?

Read The Fourth Political Theory by Dugin and The Ecology Of Freedom by Bookchin, alternating chapters.
Bookchin especially proves that ideology has always been here.

The problem here is that if Plato writes a book called The Republic and if several national leaders in the 1920s and 1930s follow what he said in Republic, and they decide to call this implementation "Fascism" then Plato will be considered "fascist".
This is grammatically inaccurate, because the Fascists should be properly called Platonists, but hey.

no, I mean the book by Marx and Engels which refutes German Idealism, some branches of German Materialism (especially Stirner and Feuerbach) and any ideology you'll ever want to commit to

>>15220709What bothers me is how a lot of these political philosophical developments seem very recent, which makes it hard for me to understand where these ideas were born out of in history. History, in my mind, started in the year 0 AD, which makes it hard for me to relate a lot of these concepts over the span of 2000 years

That's the thing, they only *seem* that way.
You can really go read Plato's Republic and see Fascism in utero.
Read some real History books after you do Dugin & Bookchin (which are overviews and discussions of ideology and ideological history, as is Dugin's Last War Of The World Island which goes from today all the way back to Carthage vs Rome)

Some good history books to get into later:
>The Fall Of The Roman Empire by Peter Heather
>History Of The Ancient World by Bauer (there's a Medieval and Renaissance version too)
>Feudal Society i&ii by Marc Bloch

These are going to be a tough row to hoe, but they will prove to you what is said by Dugin and Bookchin about the ancient origins and continuous existence of ideology.
