when you really get into a kpop group it builds a sort of parasocial bond between you and the idol(s). that's half the job of the idol, to build up their idol-fan relationship. so you "care" about them, and you care about their success and their worries and their efforts
and the idol career is incredibly stresful with a heavy workload. seeing them work so hard and then thinking of the dudes that just treat them as jerkoff material really left me disgusted
