I vaguely want to read this and The Crystal World because there are music albums with the same name. The album sharing the latter title is an EXCELLENT metal album, and I don't usually care for metal.

The other is a Danny Brown rap album which I can't imagine is great. I also doubt that he came up with the title himself, probably some well-read jew producer suggested it to him. I could be wrong though.

I won't lie to you, it's actually pretty damn good. I'm not a hip-hop fan but it has a definite experimental edge, lots of post-punk samples and abrasive (meme word but applicable) production choices. Give it a try.

Honestly, just read more Ballard. He really is one of the most unique voices of the 20th century, there isn't anyone like him, imo.

And once you've read plenty of Ballard, give pic related a try too, if you're feeling bold. it brings together a lot of Ballard's ideas (especially the recapitulation stuff in TAE) into a really bizarre theory about the development of the central nervous system and the death drive

The Danny Brown album takes its name from a Joy Division song, not the JG Ballard book. The Joy Division song does however take its name from the book.

Danny is one of the few respectable rappers, he went into debt making Atrocity Exhibition and did a lot of the work himself iirc. Great album too.
