I feel like this book is teaching me what I've been trying to learn for years.

Each of the law is a chapter where the author tells stories (with an interpretation at the end) of real people who have transgressed and observed the law throughout history, and does a reversal at the end

A better book would be something like Dubliners by James Joyce, the short stories reveal so much about what it means to be human it's wonderful. You can also tackle his magnum opus Finnegans Wake, it contains within it all of human history and civilization. If you need help getting into it, might I recommend Campbells Skeleton Key?

That book is pretty surface level.

Kill your morals first with Stirner and then go out into the world and actually manipulate people instead of reading Robert fucking Greene

And as this guy says, it's surface level, just don't treat it as the be-all and end-all.

Exactly this. It's a vague bunch of general phrases that appeal to a certain kind of disaffected people who believe you have to be cunning and manipulative to succeed.

How did you learn anything from this?
A friend of mine lent me it, unfortunately, not being part of a 16th century court, nor commanding an army, nor having any money or contacts in silicon valley I found no earthly or relevant application for any of the stories in it.
Really tried hard to see what's useful about it.

I've read all his books, except the latest. "A vague bunch of general phrases" seems to suggest that you haven't read anything he wrote.
>"who believe you have to be cunning and manipulative to succeed"
Another shit-tier take. Persuasion is done unconsciously by most people, without control at all. Why not master it? Besides, we live in an amoral world, and being moral in it is suicide.

In the corporate world, it can be very useful. Eccentric, flamboyant, or shy personalities don't fare well in corporate or law field. Except if you are exceptionally talented.

That's why 48 laws of power is better than the prince. You can apply them even if you are a nobody.
On a larger scale, corporate world and Capitalism are dying. So the book and it's skills might not be useful in the future.
