Considering that this is from Land's "Shamanic Nietzsche" article, I should note, that for Nietzsche "lies" have positive constructive value.

Using more modern parlance, lies are, essentially, Virtual Reality. Social concepts are founded in ignorance, and it is essential for that ignorance to remain ignored.
Like, for example, in jurisprudence there is all that "Fruit of the Poisonous Tree" legal metaphor. You glorify your ignorance of incriminating evidence, if it was acquired in a wrong way. Therefore, personal privacy. Therefore, society functions.
