You already know the answer, but the Bhagavad Gita works as well. You might have to a lot of internal reflection, contemplation, meditation, prayer before you can even find value in written works. You have to be sensitive to your feelings, draw, write, music, etc, etc, you have already heard all the advice, I don’t think you need to hear more. You have to find yourself

If you've already heard all the advice, you've tried it, and it hasn't worked, at some point you have to consider that it might just be bad advice. Is there anything more absurd than thinking one must "find themselves"? How can we ever be anything other than ourselves? No, the self does not have to be discovered. It is always with us. Rather, one must have the courage to look honestly. To see ourselves for what we are. But how can we see ourselves truly if we cannot see truth? Do not listen to these post-modern, post-Christian, post-liberal ideas of self-discovery in Eastern esotericism. The more you exert yourself as an individual without outside reference, the more lost you will become. If you have no destination in mind, how can you ever make any progress? If you have no map, no compass, how do you know that you are moving at all? Our purpose is to love God. For this we were made. Do not find yourself, find God, and he will reveal you to yourself in all your iniquity. Read the Confessions of Augustine. Read Introduction to the Devout Life. Read the Summa. Read the sermons of St. John Vianny. Read the Ascent of Mount Carmel. Read The Imitation of Christ. Read the Revelations of St. Bridget. Read the Church Fathers. Read The Story of a Soul. Read The Mystical City of God. Read True Devotion to Mary. Read the Secrets of the Rosary. Read the Spiritual Exercises. Read the Gospels. If you would find yourself, pray.

Good effort but also brainlet take , to truly find oneself is to find god . Try advaita
Simply remove all that is an object of experience (body/mind) until you arrive to whats left. To settle for a god out there is to settle for a half truth neither knowing god nor oneself, if you cannot experience god you cannot know god.

>> No.15124513

>>15124445
>remove objective truth until you find truth
Can any man, by his own will alone, cause even one hair to grow on his head? Can any man raise himself from the dead? Who is like unto God? If God could be found in the self, why would anyone need to search for him? You cannot experience God until you know God. And so I say again, read Confessions of Augustine. He solves this problem within the first page.

I don’t know. I’m still pretty lost. I will say though that Michelstaedter’s Persuasion and Rhetoric gave me a clue and I don’t mean that in a cryptic or sarcastic way. I find others don’t have the same takeaway from this book though. I don’t know if I just have a unique reading or they miss the point. Nonetheless, it’s given me at least some sense of a direction even if only a little bit.

>Not my meaning
Just say you're a narcissist and go my guy
Unload the term meaning of meaning, act in despite of, looking for meaning is the admission of inherent lack, that shouldn't deter you, it's too late for sincerity, to act with purpose is an universal lie, there is no refutation of this, you will be abhorrent for no other reason than to affirm YOUR cope: "I have meaning, a purpose" a lie, "throw yourself in the water again" is to reconcile (act, not resign) the fact that your search for meaning is actually your search for a grander lie, fooling only yourself and act the same knowing you're lying

They’re talking about mysticism. It’s almost the opposite of the pill for the masses. It’s one thing to believe that you just don’t have a need for spirituality. Fair enough. It’s something entirely different to be ignorant and assert it everywhere.

Right, so if you read it again, you'll remember that he didn't actually want the woman to throw herself in the water again. He wanted her to jump again, so that he could have the chance to save her and therefore redeem himself and her, but after saying this he admits he doesn't want the chance again. He'd rather not have the opportunity for redemption, because he'd rather resign himself to the unknowing than confirm his guilt again. He argues that we liberate ourselves by condemning ourselves and everyone else. Resignation is an act. Suicide is a resignation. To choose not to save someone is a resignation. He literally resigns himself to the fact that the moment has passed and there is nothing more he can do. I can think of few things more selfish than this.

"Resign himself to the fact" what? You mean he accepts reality - how about you address what I said, he doesn't argue that we condemn, he says we're all already condemned, it's about doubling down not resigning from life
FIRST address the lying, then assuming you reject that , what kind of meaning do you seek, most likely it's something romantic that confirms that you're special because if not beyond all that the fall solves it all l,nuts just you who cannot imagine it in practice

All these people who talk about God all the time have a screw loose. With that you will never get anywhere in life, I wonder who all these crazy people are. You should never forget that there are many crazy people or children on this platform. People who have no friends and have social difficulties. It is obvious that something is wrong with these people, otherwise they would not be here and would preach. So I can only advise you to take it easy.

part 2

Many have a hard time in life and there are really good books that can help you if you allow it and also take steps to promote a happier life. When reading these particular books, you then compare what goals you want to achieve in life. Maybe you just want to feel free. Free of all that shit that wants to be turned on around the clock. And finally having a reasonably good time with myself, doing yourself a treat and treating yourself well. You don't need to have read a lot of books, just the right ones, with a certain life experience and serious approach. Surely many have been stuck here for years and all these books have not brought much. All these people, like everyone else, have a certain need for validity. Therefore, they cannot let go and be happy, but want to persist in their opinion and show off their knowledge. But that's not the goal. Just chill, take your time, have fun.
