Brilliant.

The Phantom Menace was when I realized Star Wars was shit.
I had some forebodings with the Ewoks. Jar Jar convinced me. Absolute and utter shit.

You should read it anon. Who cares about Disney. The Plagueis book, the Darth Bane trilogy, the ROTS novelization, and some of the books in the NJO and LOTF series are all really good.

I read all the stuff from after ROTJ through the massive series where they got invaded from outside the galaxy (Y-Vongs).
the Timmy Zahn books were probably my favorite

Going back and reading all of the old republic + clone wars material seems a bit much, especially because I'm not a 6th grader any more

is the stuff that you're mentioning as good as the Thrawn trilogy?

original anon here.
ive heard bane is great. is ROTS really that good? does it offer a lot more than the movie in terms of anakin becoming vader/the jedi being corrupt pieces of shit that deserve their downfall?

Start with the ones written by Mathew Stover because he is probably the best Star Wars writer. So that would be the novelization for Revenge of the Sith as well as Traitor and some others. If that sparks your interest in more EU material then move on to the Darth Bane trilogy and the Darth Plagueis book (those are good and well-written too, just not on the same level as Stover's quality of writing).

Yes ROTS is really good. It delves more deeply into Anakin's mind and why he turns to the dark side. It also has speaks more about the political distrust and conflict between the Jedi Council, Palpatine, the Senate, and Padme. It also lets you see into the minds of some other characters like Dooku (the lightsaber duel with Dooku is much better in the book, and so is the duel between Palpatine and the four Jedi Masters). I don't really remember if it shows the corruption of the Jedi per se, but it does show how naive they are at times; Mace Windu says there is a plot to destroy the Jedi and Yoda initially dismisses it as a conspiracy theory.

jesus ok after a quick google there's like 3 (maybe more) different novelizations of ROTS and some of them are Scholastic/not written by Stover so be careful out there anons!

Yeah there was another version that was written for kids. The Matthew Stover version is the adult one.

Oh and I forgot the books by Troy Denning. He wrote some great lightsaber duels. The duel between Luke and his nephew Jacen Solo in Inferno is brutal.

Yesterday I was thinking of buying this trilogy and Darth Plagueis. Is The Lost Tribe of Sith good?

>Is The Lost Tribe of Sith good?
I haven't read it but the Fate of the Jedi series, which features the lost tribe of the Sith, was sort of both good and bad in my opinion. There is an interesting dynamic between Luke, his son Ben, and the Sith with whom they team up. But the Abeloth character is really stupid and it all was kind of a mess. I liked some of it but overall the series is a mess.

>Lucas agreed that this situation made sense for Sith royalty, and offered up two Darth titles for the team to choose from. “He threw out ‘Darth Icky’ and ‘Darth Insanius.’ There was a pregnant pause in the room after that. People waiting for George to say ‘just kidding,’ but it never comes, and he just moved on to another point.”

Probably books about economics. That was what he dealt with mostly as part of the Intergalactic Banking Clan. I don't think he cared for fiction. I don't remember for sure but I think the book even says that he thought fiction was a waste of time or something like that.

yeah I guess I never read anything after NJO
I might check it out, my backlog is already massive and I haven't read any star wars books in at least a decade.
