what does /lit/ think of the sagas and eddas? do you read them in old norse or in translation? if so, who's your favorite translator? also, what's your favorite story?

Anyway the concepts and gods and stories overall can be quite interesting but the writing itself is just garbage

i haven't read in translation in a long time, and think that moving out of Starbreim really leaves a lot of the feeling of the language lacking
for example:

sounds much better when you can hear the repeating voiceless velar plosive throughout the first half, and so on and so on
