Name one country that has a richer, more elegant, and substantial literary tradition and body of work than America. I will wait, because you fucking can't. America is by far the most lit country to live in

Hardy har har I'm actually the last one to stick up for America but technically we're the most educated country by far and have the most scholars as well. In addition to this we have the most accredited universities as well as the most technical capabilities. Much of this is because education in America is valued by Americans, so we make it a priority. That said, it should be a priority in every country which is what many of our ambassadors to other countries teach the leaders of those countries, with respect to education. As it relates to reading specifically, that is also something that we excel at. Our literacy rates are one of the highest ever, and that's not even including how young of a age Americans start reading at, which is one of the youngest in the world.

Reading is actually a pastime in America just like baseball, and if you explore further you will notice that reading actually predates baseball as an American pastime. It should be noted that reading isn't the only pastime that America enjoys. Americans also enjoy baseball among various other pastimes. But don't be fooled by the common saying that "Americans can't read," because we can. And you know what else? We enjoy it.

He wasn't a psychoanalyst like Ibsen or Cervantes, he worked from the outside crafting characters as Mouthpieces or Butts. Still he was full of ideas and Caesar & Cleopatra could use a remake on film.

USA has some strong novelists but is let down because it only started to git gud after poetry was already falling out of fashion, and the verse tradition it did create is excessively modernist.

The largest and oldest European countries: Italy, France, England, Germany, Spain, have the greatest depth and variety to their national literature. Even if you think USA wins from 19th century onward, which is doubtful, a country like England has Anglo-Saxon warrior poems, Medieval dream allegories, Renaissance tragedies, Baroque metaphysical lyrics and Augustan novels even before you reach that point, each representing a unique and distinctive style of development in the language and form of that nation's literature.
