is it ethical to hold artificial intelligence to the same moral standards as humans?

but I'd say no, they're machines, not animals.

Nobody is going to create AI with the same huge moral flaws humans have. That would lead to extinction of the human race.

books about ethics of AI?

>>15001838
assuming
a. humans can create AI that isn't similar to humans
b. AI without moral flaws would be sympathetic to human morality

Morals are a somewhat general set of human principles. We do not hold rocks, dogs, trees, mosquitoes, etc to human standards, though we often anthropomorphize them. We may one day be capable of creating an AI that, for all intents and purposes, acts like a human would, but this will be illusory. When this time comes those that advocate for "AI rights" will simply be engaging in the aforementioned anthropomorphization of otherwise inanimate matter.
We should treat AI like we treat rocks, maybe at best how we'd treat a dog, if only as a symbolic gesture (self-flattery for the most part I expect, read Stirner). Of course animal rights make more sense than AI rights, since we can reasonably assume that mammals feel and think in a similar manner to us, whereas any AI will simply be designed to appear like us.
I hope this doesn't come off as a non sequitur, but for humanity's self-preference is a fairly fascistic trait. I'm not sure "fascistic" is the right word here but I'm referring to a demographic-based in-group preference. Someone can rationalize our inhumane treatment of animals any which way but the bottom line is that they are inhuman, and so we treat them as the out-group like a fascist might treat someone of a different nationality/race. My impression of animal rights advocates is that they are usually left-wing and socialist/communist, so I think this framing is apt. Humans naturally engage in a "fascist" mindset unconsciously when it comes to the treatment of non-humans and other races.
Anyway I'm bored of rambling ooga booga bimidy boo hope this is relevant.
tl;dr robots are fucking stupid they're not people they shouldn't have rights

only if you hold animals to the same degree.
