I do think you're right in the sense that the big 5 are one dimensional, quantitative measures of qualitative differences.

Cobb-Clark & Shurer 2011 found adults' big 5 scores to be stable across time. Jang et all 96 found the traits to be about 50% heritable, on average. Whatever these tests measure, they aren't just measures of how you feel on a given day.

You're still not getting it. Lexicography is not psychology, any more than it is physics or chemistry. At best you can construct a pre-theoretic understanding of "folk physics" etc from how people use certain terms. But that obviously won't help you with physics itself. Predicting how people pre-theoretically use certain adjectives can be useful for constructing a naive 'folk psychology' but not for understanding actual psychological phenomena.

Yes. Everything that involves other people is circumstantial and subjective. What shouldn't be-granted you've actually been (oh boy here it comes) conscientious-is your behavior towards people and situations. Of course everyone is not going to be that resilient Stoic who can face anything the same way. But anyone can be. They just need to put their foot forward and take the step towards that development. Read some more Stoic philosophy friend.

Just use bookdepository. I would recommend you buy Plato/Aristotle/Descartes/Locke to start out with. Down the road I'd recommend Plotinus, Leibniz, Hume, Spinoza, Aquinas, Anselm, Augustine and Kant. You can just pirate more expensive books on libgen.
