Shipping to boot camp soon. Allowed to bring two small books with me. I don't have any specifics on what "small" means but reading material will be worth it since I'll have 2 weeks of quarantine when I get there. What are some essential "small" books to bring that won't out ma as a retard?

Don't bring the Bible, OP. Assuming you're American, you can get Bibles or really any religious book you want when you get there. I got a Bible and a Book of Mormon just to read because I was bored out of my mind. All you have to do to get either is go to a religious service, which you'll probably want to do anyway because all there is to do on Sundays is clean the barracks.

Ignore every other poster here. Bring a small book by Julio Cortazar called "Cronopios and Famas." Bring another small book, by Denis Johnson, called "Jesus' Son." These are maximum funny, comfy, witty, intelligent collections. Perfect for light reading during downtime.

Army. I went through basic at Ft. Leonard Wood several years ago. Crazy that you can bring a handheld gaming device. You're probably right about it being a quarantine thing. If they're holding you for two weeks before you get to your basic training company, there will probably be not a whole lot to do. Expect to get sick probably in those two weeks. Everybody brings some kind of sickness with them. For us it was pneumonia in the middle of winter. Good luck anon.
