I have only watched the ova but it's great. I'd say the plot is much more focused on politics and the setting. Gundam would be a character drama while LoG would be an history book. Also don't expect much in the way of animation.

I mean it's pretty good overall but most of the the early long running tv series, the seeds and IBO don't exacty have stellar animation. AGE is probably the best animated long running gundam serie, followed by 00.

/m/ is only /lit/ so long as trashy YA is /lit/. Gundam is king of the turdpile full of other trope-y cliched cartoon robot shows (all of which are made for children and manchildren, hence very similar to YA).
And this is coming from someone who went through a 4 year /m/ phase in 2010.

The only halfway /lit/ show would be LoGH which I entirely say is probably the only anime ever worth your time in the entire medium.
