Twitter's unique innovation was to limit the posts to 140 characters(now 280 I think), which fostered an unbelievably irritating culture that has culminated in what the retards that inhabit the site call 'hot takes', pithy little exclamations of humor, outrage, quirkiness, etc. It inhibits any real effortposting obviously, unless you want to make ungainly chains of your own posts and it takes the already strong tendency on the internet for driveby mockery without actual engagement to another level. It's basically millions of retards trying to say 'lmao' to each other in new ways every day, interspersed with outrage and le witty observations.

There are some specialized accounts that do other stuff and are sort of tolerable.
