I've read the Greeks in English and speak fluent modern Greek, however, my English is much better than my Greek. What are the best sources and textbooks to start learning to read Ancient Greek?

A good journey you have set for yourself!
Some options:
JACT Reading Greek. From what I've heard/read it's very well-esteemed.
Athenaze. Italian edition is a lot better than the English one (there's a Spanish translation of the Italian as well I think). The Italian one especially uses a
method partly modeled on Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata (not fully, but that kind of concept)
If one of your main interests is Homer, Pharr's Homeric Greek starts you off there.

You should check out the resources at the site textkit.com, I believe they have a lot of stuff there.
Good luck, I'm not an expert but ask me if you have any questions.

Είπες ότι μιλάς άπταιστα νέα ελληνικά, έτσι; Έχω μία ερώτηση. Σκοπεύεις να μάθεις αρχαία με την ανακατασκευασμένη προφορά, ή με τη νεοελληνική;
