I'm about to read this.
Is this "best seller" worth the read?
Or would you recommend something else?

self help books are not worth the read most of the time. you read one you've read them all. you're better off reading philosophy and applying it.

>How to win friends and influence people.
Self-help book are only goid when they give you a concrete set of steps for improving your life. 12 rules is shit because its Peterson rambling about is "philosophy"... ig you can call it that. Also, going to the psychiatrist, the gym and stuff like that is more useful than reading any self-help book.

To add to this

>Anon's diary
One can only improve by reflecting on the past and present, learn from his mistakes and continue what works. All the books I mentioned are not going to even remotely help you if you don't apply this simple mantra: learn from your mistakes.

Self help books are fucking awful. I haven't read a single one that hasn't been reducible to cliches. I guess How to Win Friends was the best one I've read, but the whole method just taught you a manipulative doormat.
