Just start writing something completely different. Doesn't have to be something good.
Just start writing a scene about anything. Yesterday I wrote a short scene about a filthy neckbeard being a neckbeard. It wasn't particularly well written but it got me into the momentum of writing.

Retards like you always look back and say this, no matter what the generation

In the early 2000's nobody thought the 80's were anything but a coke-fuelled sex party with bad hair

A few years later, through rose coloured glasses, a picture that looks eerily similar to 90% of thots on instagram today is "classy" because the iq-starved peanut in your head saw earrings your mom used to wear and filtered it through your madonna-whore complex

Unironically if you are struggling with writer's block, read this book. Dean Wesley Smith is boomer af, but if you can look past that, his advice in this book will absolutely get your ass in the chair and get you writing. Like, I still have good days and bad days in terms of output, but I never experience anything like writer's block anymore.

metadesires aren't real

if you want to want to do something but don't actually do it, you don't actually want to do it.

you're being governed by expectations, essentially neurotic drives to save your pride instead of just admitting to yourself that you don't actually want to do it and look for something else you do want to do

wrote a short story last night when at peak despair, then wrote some other shit to accompany it. it could be either the base for a novel or a stand alone short story. of course no one wants to publish depressing things and melancholy is my only mood available, so such as it is i may as well rip the page out and eat it.

writing on paper is pretty comfy actually. i want to buy a few notebooks and try it.

I'm not convinced. Instagram thots today have largely adopted urban negro styles: big asses and thighs, big lips, etc. That popular 90s look - thin, small tits, fit but not too muscular - looks a lot like more elegant modern looks. I don't think this is the case with every generation.

HOW TO CURE WRITER'S BLOCK

1. Take a few minutes to think of a character in a setting with a problem. Don't spend fucking hours on this, and don't worry about getting it "right." Just think for a few minutes about a setting it can be the Mariana Trench or a truck stop bathroom, Whatever. Then, think of a fucking character. Don't fill out some gay ass character sheet, just let the image of a character come to you. It can be based on someone you know, or it can be totally made up. Once again, it doesn't need to be right or perfect. Just a fucking character. In a fucking setting. With a problem (The problem doesn't have to be complicated or extravagant, and it doesn't even have to be specific, as long as you have a sense that the character is facing a problem)

2. Write about this. Shut off your critical voice that says what you're writing sucks or is boring or whatever. Just write.

3. Cycle. The length of the cycle will vary for everyone, but usually about 500 words or so. Basically, whenever you feel yourself grinding to a halt, back up 500 words or so, then read through what you have written, making small adjustments or edits as necessary (don't get bogged down in this though--you aren't rewriting, just tweaking.) When you hit the place where you stopped, you will usually find you have the momentum to move the story forward.

Summary:
1. Character in setting with problem
2. Writing "into the dark" with no outline and with inner critical voice turned OFF
3. Cycling

Writer's block happens when you need to switch gears and work on something else. Go back and edit or work on a different project. Sometimes completing a short story or poem is enough to refresh. Sometimes it's a sign that the project you're stuck on is going nowhere and should be abandoned for a while, maybe permanently.
Outside deadlines can help too if you're motivated by the threat of embarrassment, lost money, or a bad grade.

I don't think i've ever really gotten writer's block. At the same time, I've never finished a novel-length work or really worked under pressure / a deadline, or tried to get something published. Nevertheless, I am aware of it and try to write notes directly into my chapters in some other font to make sure that future me knows what I was thinking when I wrote it. Also, I like to start writing from a point that isn't exactly where I left off -- just a bit further back -- so I can get more time with pushing the scene further, whether it be really gelling with what the characters are feeling / going to do or not do.
Something else I do is plan my writing beforehand. If you know what keyframing is for animation, I try to do that but with story / plot beats and then I can fill in the blanks from there. Depending on what I've "winged" while filling in the blanks, those "set" points can actually be altered in something as minute as tone; however, altering tone in terms of story and writing is definitely huge, but in terms of the storyboard, it really isn't. It just affects what comes after provided that what comes before it already "set."
