The executions were largely fueled by civil wars and party strife. i.e. a lot of those executed were communists themselves. Really the main figure here is the gulag system and that's their labour camps for criminals (political and otherwise) that covers decades. Killing criminals rather than incarcerating them is honestly just a lot more efficient. More people are incarcerated in the US now than were killed in the gulag system.

Besides the famines attributed to communism are nothing on those that can be attributed to capitalism and colonialism. Look at the Great Bengal famine of 1770.

European state social democracy, also a mixed economy works well for a time, but it holds onto capitalism.

Capitalism is inherently unstable. It does not work. It is based on fierce competition and that will always place the most ruthless sociopaths in charge, it will always corrupt because that’s how you bribe people in a capitalist run world.
If you had a state without capitalism, you’d have a dictatorship corrupted with raw power. Hence, you must drop both capitalism and statism.
