So here's the deal, i have about 300 pages of text that i need to understand and reproduce in about 12 hours, i realize that if i will read with words (repeating every word my eyes see into my head through the language center) there is no chance in hell i can go over it 3-4 times. So it hit me that if i could bypass the language center and get the information from only looking at the words and understanding them i would triple my reading speed to say the least. Any tips on this matter?

no really, its doable, thats how speed reading works

Is it possible without adderal/meth?

do you need to reproduce this word for word?

if so, I'd say you're fucked. otherwise, skim the text and browse the interwebs for a decent summary. you'd probably at least pass (if this is for a class...).

Try staring at a sentence and understanding it without hearing it in your brain.

Most of what is printed in a book is pointless. Fluff. Not Concise. Learn to skip over redundant info and condense it down into just what matters. Read a chapter and write a summary from recall, study off of that.

ye well thx, that i knew, just trying something new

I think it's too much to expect to learn to speed read in 12 hours but I'm a natural speed reader and I think what's key is I don't read one word at a time, my eyes process clumps of 3-4 words simultaneously, with each glance at the page, therefore I don't subvocalise because I couldn't possibly do it that quickly.

It's a bit like when I count things, I don't count like 1-2-3-4, my eyes break whatever it is down into clumps of 3/4/5/6/7 or whatever and I just add the clumps together. It's accurate too. I don't know if everyone counts that way but I think there's an analogue between counting in clumps and reading in clumps of words.

What happens when even part of the language centre is left out:

exactly, the next step for you is to increase the clumps, that's what i'm trying to do but it's harder than expected and needs some serious practice :D

Let's get some clarification here:

Are you saying that you need to READ and become FAMILIAR with the text in 12 hours?

Or are you saying that you need to LEARN the text VERBATIM and be able to RECITE it?

If it's the latter, then I'm pretty sure you're SOL. I doubt there has ever been a human being alive who could do that...or anything close to that....

Understand it, and be able to retain most of the information, not learning it by heart

not really. When you want to understand complex stuff, you have to avoid distractions.
4chan is a distraction.
Pic related. It's distracting.
