the IQ/midwit memes that are going around here because modern men are entirely devoid of anything real when it comes to being noble or virtuous. iq is just a meaningless number pretending to be an empirical measure of how good of a person you are. if you're on this board, you already have the hardware to do whatever you want in life. you aren't a starving african child who never had enough food for their brain to grow properly. all of your problems are based around your world view, self esteem and work ethic

People with the time to make comments like that aren't usually the people making waves in industry. I would assume it's the people who've had there first psychology course or in medical/law school and haven't failed out yet. People that are actually too busy making said moves to think about dumb people unless they're dumb people that work for them or under them in their company/industry. I would understand if it was /biz/ where you'd assume everyone is just about money and any way you could make it which is more about timing and charisma then intelligence but not /sci/. I will never understand why people tear each other down to feel special for a second when in reality someone is always richer, smarter, or more attractive.

It's an attack on people who know a bit more than average on a subject, and think themselves geniuses. They're typically not capable of having actual discussions, because they can only repeat what others have said. Their worldview is found on a ton of axioms which they have never thought of, and are thus incapable of defending. No one really likes these people, and some have identified them with an IQ range of 110-130. I think it's an attack on a certain mindset rather than actual IQ score.

However, I do want to say that 4chan seems to self-report IQs far above average. Whether or not this is accurate or not doesn't matter, because if you read the threads, people clearly believe it. So there's also an elitist phenomena going on, where high IQ people are raising the bar of intelligence even higher just to make themselves look better. "Midwit" is basically a catch-all term used to describe multiple groups that multiple other groups dislike, and the result is that the groups being attacked are so generalized that a bunch of otherwise healthy people are caught in the crossfire.

The fact that leftists consistently sperg out with the same environmental arguments about IQ, no matter how many threads they get proven wrong in, probably contributes to this. It means that IQ, as a topic, is put primarily into the hands of the group of people which argues with leftists.
